这尊玉佛曾供奉在已拆除的藏经楼楞严讲堂内。这缅甸玉佛是由缅甸华侨捐献给光明山普觉禅寺，重量有大概1.3吨。
藏经楼在1978年落成，是一座两层楼的建筑物。1983年，藏经楼曾经举办过新加坡佛教文物展，80年代有许多活动例如短期出家等等，都在藏经楼的楞严讲堂举办，二楼是图书馆。藏经楼现址已重建为目前的般若禅堂。
This Burmese style jade Buddha statue used to be enshrined in the Surangama hall of the old Dharma Hall, which has since been torn down. The statue was presented to Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery by an overseas Chinese in Myanmar and weighs approximately 1.3 tons.
The old Dharma Hall was completed in 1978 and had two floors. In 1983, the old Dharma Hall was an exhibition venue for Singapore’s Buddhist artefacts. In its heyday in the 1980s, many activities were held in the level one Surangama hall such as the short-term monkhood novitiate programme; and level two was the library. The present day Prajñā Meditation Hall sits on the site of this old Dharma Hall.
