In light of the 1964 racial riot in Singapore, Venerable Seck Hong Choon gathered religious leaders from the various faiths to promote racial harmony and peace. After Singapore gained independence, he formally established the Singapore Buddhist Sangha Organisation to foster understanding and harmony among Buddhist organisations in Singapore. In the following year, Venerable Seck Hong Choon organised the Triple Platform Ordination Ceremony at KMSPKS and became one of the founding members of the Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic (SBFC).
