圆瑛长老第四度来新加坡,在光明山普觉禅寺建大法会超度国内死难同胞。战争胜利后第二年,圆瑛长老第五次来新加坡居圆通寺。
闽南佛门大德转峰和尚南来,掩关于光明山普觉禅寺。
On Venerable Shi Yuan Ying’s fourth visit to Singapore, he held a puja at KMSPKS for the deliverance of departed compatriots who passed away during the war. Venerable Shi Yuan Ying later visited Singapore for the fifth time — two years after the war ended – and resided at Yuan Tong Temple.
The most Venerable Shi Zhuan Feng came to Singapore and visited KMPSKS, where he sought seclusion to meditate without distractions.

宏船长老回锡新加坡后,并与转道长老于光明山普觉禅寺启建“大悲法会”,祈祷世界和平。 宏船长老念及恩师嗣法雪峰寺喜宗上人,是佛化老人的法孙,早有法系因缘,故受转道长老记别于光明山普觉禅寺,作为嗣法。意思是转道长老把光明山普觉禅寺方丈之位传给宏船长老,作为法脉的继承人。
Upon his return to Singapore, Venerable Seck Hong Choon collaborated with Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao to co-organise the “Great Compassion Repentance Puja” at KMSPKS, with the intention of offering prayers for world peace. Succession matters were discussed, and Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao officially passed the abbacy of KMSPKS to Venerable Seck Hong Choon.
The spiritual lineages and life journeys of both Venerables Sik Zhuan Dao and Seck Hong Choon have been closely intertwined, with deep connections to Elder Fo Hua. Venerable Seck Hong Choon’s own master received the transmission of lineage from Venerable Shi Xi Zong of Xue Feng Temple, who was a Dharma successor of Elder Fo Hua. In their earlier days, Elder Fo Hua served as a mentor to the young Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao.
1943
会泉长老七十岁圆寂后,宏船长老担起妙香林住持的重任, 继承先师遗志,致力妙香林寺务。在他经营修建下,殿宇日渐壮观,法缘日盛。
11月18日转道长老圆寂于新加坡普陀寺,同年,宏船长老受新加坡各佛教组织的邀请,希望他回新加坡接任光明山普觉禅寺。
Venerable Seck Hong Choon became the Abbot of Meow Sian Li Temple after the demise of his master, Venerable Shi Hui Quan at age 70. He continued his master’s legacy by devoting himself to the affairs of Meow Sian Li Temple. Under Venerable Hong Choon’s care and management, the temple flourished and grew in magnificence as the days passed.
On 18 November 1943, Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao passed away at Poo Thor Jee Temple. In the same year, Venerable Seck Hong Choon was invited by various Buddhist organisations in Singapore to return and take charge of matters at KMSPKS.

宏船长老回新加坡任光明山普觉禅寺住持,隔年修理佛殿、扩充原有之规模、辟汽车路、建方丈楼、发起大悲法会,美化光明山寺院外观,联合僧俗同道,成立“建园委员会”,聘请转岸法师为主任,将放生园扩建,广植花木,设亭囿台榭、禽畜栅舍以及放生池等。供人光观赏。
Venerable Seck Hong Choon returned to Singapore and took charge of KMSPKS. Under his leadership, KMSPKS embarked on a series of development works in the following year. This includes the overall expansion and aesthetics of the monastery, refurbishment works at shrine halls, building of roads and construction of the Abbot’s Hall. A Construction Committee comprising both monastics and lay Buddhists was also formed, and Venerable Shi Zhuan An was engaged as its Chairperson.
Further development works include the expansion of the existing animal liberation garden, landscaping of monastery grounds with flowers and trees, building of pavilions and gloriettes, and the construction of an animal barn as well as a new pond for animal liberation.
The reinvigorated monastery was a sight to behold for everyone.

其真法师圆寂,宏船长老正式接任光明山普觉禅寺方丈。
Venerable Seck Hong Choon is officially appointed as the second Abbot of KMSPKS after the passing of Venerable Shi Qi Zhen.

成立新加坡佛教总会, 宏船长老在1949年被委任副主席。从1964年至1986年,他受委为主席,任期间,对社会福利、宗教和谐、文化教育的开展,不遗余力。
Venerable Seck Hong Choon founded the Singapore Buddhist Federation (SBF) and was appointed its Vice-President in 1949. He later served as President from 1964 to 1986. During his tenure, he spared no efforts in the development and promotion of social welfare, religious harmony, and cultural education.

宏船长老与其他宗教组织代表共同创立“新加坡宗教联谊会”。宗教与种族和谐至关重要,因此一致认同成立宗教联谊会。
Venerable Seck Hong Choon founded the Singapore Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) together with other religious leaders. Recognising the crucial role of racial and religious harmony in Singapore, a unanimous agreement was reached between the leaders to establish the IRO.
