On 3 March, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong was invited to officiate the Inaugural Ceremony of KMSPKS to mark the auspicious completion of the monastery.

On 13 September, KMSPKS invited then Minister of Health, Khaw Boon Wan, to officiate the inaugural School Opening Ceremony of Buddhist College of Singapore.

光明山普觉禅寺和新加坡华乐团联合主办第一届大型佛教音乐会《千年一音》在新加坡室内体育馆举行，为菩提学校扩建基金筹款。所筹的款项为多过6百万新币。
To raise funds for Maha Bodhi School’s upgrading project, KMSPKS and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra jointly organised the first large-scale Buddhist concert named “Voices of Harmony”, held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. More than $6 million was raised from the concert.

6月21日举行大悲心大愿力音乐会，为四川灾区儿童筹募教育基金慈善演出，邀请张小康大使（中国驻新加坡大使）、符喜泉部长（社会发展青年及体育政务部）参加。
On 21 June, KMSPKS organised the “Great Compassion and Everlasting Will” (Da Bei Xin Da Yuan Li) charity concert to raise funds for the Sichuan Earthquake Disaster Children’s Education Fund. Invited and in attendance were Zhang Xiao Kang, then Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to Singapore, and Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth, and Sports.

第二次在新加坡室内体育馆举办《千年一音》筹款音乐会,为佛教施诊所筹募常年经费。
KMSPKS organised its second charity concert “Voices of Harmony 2” at the Singapore Stadium to raise funds for the Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic.

举办新加坡佛学院第一届学僧毕业典礼。
KMSPKS held the Graduation Ceremony for the inaugural batch of Buddhist College of Singapore Sangha graduates.

12月6日邀请了财政部兼交通部政务部长杨莉明女士， 及中国佛教协会副会长演觉法师，莅临新加坡佛学院暨多层停车场奠基仪式。
KMSPKS organised the foundation laying ceremony on 6 December for the construction of the Buddhist College of Singapore campus and the multi-storey car park. Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport, and Venerable Shi Yan Jue, vice-president of the Buddhist Association of China were invited.
