1982 – 宏船长老第一·次回中国
7月10日，宏船长老以新加坡佛总主席和光明山普觉禅寺住持身份，率领一个由六位佛教徒组成的代表团首次访问中国。这是宏船长老在42年之后，首次回中国观光。
10日抵达广州，12日赵朴初会长偕其及夫人陈邦织女士赴广州亲切地会见了宏船长老一行。13日，赵朴初会长和夫人陪同宏船长老一行由广州到达北京。
在北京期间，宏船长老一行游览了市容，参观了故宫、天坛、雍和宫和法源寺，全国政协刘澜涛副主席亲切地会见了他们。赵朴初会长在人民大会堂举行宴会招待了宏船长老一行。
15日离京回新加坡。
1982 Venerable Hong Choon returned to China for the first time.
As the President of the Singapore Buddhist Federation, Venerable Seck Hong Choon led a group of six Buddhist devotees on a visit to China on 10 July. This was Venerable Seck Hong Choon first visit to China after 42 years.
Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage arrived at Guangzhou on 10 July. On 12 July, they were warmly welcomed by the President of the Buddhist Association of China, Zhao Puchu and his wife, Chen Bangzhi. The couple later accompanied the group on a visit to Beijing.
During their stay in Beijing, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage toured the city and visited The Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple and Fayuan Temple. They also met with Liu Lantao, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The Buddhist Association of China and Zhao Puchu later hosted a banquet for Venerable Seck Hong Choon at the Great Hall of the People.
Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage returned to Singapore on 15 July.
