宏船长老邀请宗教联谊会各大宗教领袖一同前往中国，而且还慷慨为新加坡宗教联谊会代表团赴中国进行有史以来的首次各宗教交流提供资金。他带领信徒们和新加坡宗教联谊会的代表们第四次赴中国交流访问。

新加坡宗教联谊会的代表团由波斯教、锡克教、犹太教、兴都教、伊斯兰教、佛教、基督教等七大宗教的10位宗教代表组成。

11月11日，宏船长老带领弟子12人出席了厦门市人民政府举行欢迎会，参访南普陀寺，万石莲寺和虎溪岩寺。朝礼了宏船长老的师父会泉长老和宏船长老母亲的塔墓。13日到达泉州，他们出席了泉州佛协欢迎宴会，晋江霞福村（宏船长老的家乡）举行三天祭祖佛事活动。参访开元寺、承天寺、雪峰寺和龙山寺。17日离泉州途中，宏船长老参访了福清万佛寺，并访问林绍良的老家。当晚，福建省胡平省长会见并宴请了宏船长老一行。18日，宏船长老率12弟子飞抵北京。

赵朴初会长、正果法师、李荣熙副会长等前往迎接。下榻健国饭店。当日陈文杰、孙泽智、庄学良等也先后抵达北京与宏船长老等会合。宏船长老率领的观光团和瓦基尔率领的访华团，受到了国家副主席乌兰夫的亲切会见，和赵朴初会长的会见和宴请；参访了法源寺。两团还分别游览了故宫、长城、十三陵地下宫殿、颐和园。访华团部分团员拜访了牛街清真寺和天主教南堂。

22日，上午访华团去南京等地访问。 下午宏船长老率观光团一行15人赴西安等地访问。在西安，宏船长老一行受到孙达仁副省长的会见和宴请，参访了大慈恩寺（大雁塔），大兴善寺；参观秦兵马俑，半坡村，华清池。

26日晚，由西安飞往广州。在广州，宏船长老一行受到叶选平副省长的会见和省政协郑群副主席与省佛协的分别宴请；参访六榕寺。

宏船长老在圆满地结束访华任务后，于29 日由广州离境经香港返回新加坡。

1985 Venerable Hong Choon returned to China for the fourth time.

On 11 November (29th day of the 9th lunar month), Venerable Seck Hong Choon led a group of 25 devotees for a 19-day visit to China.

Venerable Seck Hong Choon also led representatives from Singapore’s Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) on a cultural and religious exchange programme to China. He generously donated funds to the delegation of representatives in support of IRO’s first ever multi-religious exchange programme.

On 11 November, Venerable Seck Hong Choon led 12 of his disciples to attend a welcome event organised by the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government. During their visit, they visited the South Putuo Temple (Nanputuo Si), Wan Shi Lian Temple, and Hu Xi Yan Temple and paid their respects at the graves of Venerable Hong Choon’s mother and his master, Venerable Shi Hui Quan. On 13 November, they arrived in Quanzhou and attended a welcome banquet hosted by the Quanzhou Buddhist Association, and held a three-day ancestral prayer at Xiafu Village in Jinjiang (Venerable Hong Choon’s hometown). They also visited Kaiyuan Temple and Cheng Tian Temple. Before leaving Quanzhou on 17 November, Venerable Seck Hong Choon visited Wan Fo Temple in Fuqing and the hometown of Sudono Salim (Liem Sioe Liong). On the same night, Hu Ping, Governor of Fujian Province hosted Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his disciples to a banquet.

On 18 November, Venerable Seck Hong Choon flew to Beijing, where he was received by Zhao Puchu (BAC Chairman), Venerable Shi Zheng Guo, and Li Rongxi (BAC Vice-Chairman). They settled down at Jianguo Hotel and met with Chen Wenjie, Sun Zezhi, Zhuang Xueliang, and others.

Both delegations led by Venerable Seck Hong Choon and Behram R Vakil (IRO President) were warmly received by Ulanhu, Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China. They were invited to a banquet with Zhao Puchu and visited Fayuan Temple together. Both delegations also toured the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, the Ming Dynasty Tombs, Underground Palace and Summer Palace. Some members of the delegation also visited the Niujie Mosque and The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

On the morning of 22 November, they visited Nanjing City and its surrounding areas. In the afternoon, Venerable Seck Hong Choon led a group of 15 and travelled to the Xi’an region, where they were received and hosted to a banquet by Sun Daren, Vice-Governor of Xi’an Province. They went to visit Daci’en Temple (Giant Wild Goose Pagoda) and Daxingshan Temple, where they toured Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum, Banpo Museum, and Huaqing Hot Springs.

On the night of 26 November, they left Xi’an and flew to Guangzhou. Upon arrival, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his delegation were warmly invited and hosted to a banquet by Zheng Qun, Vice-Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the Guangdong Buddhist Association. They also visited the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees (Liurong si).

The cultural and religious exchange programme was successfully concluded, and Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his delegation left Guangzhou via Hong Kong and returned to Singapore on 29 November.
