10月18日，第五次回中国，一共有11位人访问团，返乡礼祖，由新加坡飞经香港抵达厦门入境。在厦门，宏船长老为其师会泉长老和母亲上坟、扫墓，然后到泉州其家乡做佛事、重建承天寺、厦门虎溪岩等。

10月30日宏船长老一行，在专程前往厦门迎接的游骧副秘书长陪同下由厦门飞抵北京。

宏船长老一行到达北京，受到赵朴初会长及夫人陈邦织女士、周绍良副会长、净慧法师和郭元兴居士等的热烈欢迎。

赵朴初会长向宏船长老赠送了新印制的房山石经。宏船长老的随行人员还参拜了佛牙舍利塔，参观了雍和宫、长城、十三陵地下宫殿、故宫等名胜。

11月1日上午9时,全国人大副委员长班禅大师在人民大会堂接见厅亲切地会见了宏船长老及其随行人员。赵朴初会长及夫人、国务院宗教事务局副局长赤耐以及周绍良会长出席了会见。班禅大师同宏船长老进行了亲切友好的谈话。

11月2日,宏船长老一行,在游骧副秘书长、赵国忱副主任陪同下,由京启程飞往桂林参观访问。

11月2日晚, 桂林市雷素平副市长到宏船长老房间亲切地看望了宏船长老，之后在迎宾设素宴招待了宏船长老一行。宏船长老在桂林游览漓江和七星岩。

11月4日宏船长老一行乘飞机由桂林飞抵广州。次日上午,参拜了光孝寺，受到云峰法师和本焕法师等热情接待。

11月5日晚6时，广东省政协副主席、省委统战部长郑群在迎宾馆会见并宴请了宏船长老一行。正在广州观察的全国政协副主席、赵朴初会长和夫人也出席了会见和宴请。宏船长老在广州时，赵朴初会长和夫人还到迎宾馆宏船长老的房间看望了宏船长老，进行了亲切的交谈。

11月6日，宏船长老一行圆满地结束此次访问,由广州离境经香港回国。广东省佛协会长云峰法师、副会长本焕法师,广东省宗教事务局副局长刘卓善以及游骧副秘书长,赵国忱等10人前往机场送行。

1986 Venerable Hong Choon returned to China for the fifth time.

On 18 October, Venerable Seck Hong Choon led a group 11 individuals on his fifth visit to China. They flew from Singapore to Hong Kong before arriving at Xiamen, where Venerable Seck Hong Choon paid respects at the graves of Venerable Shi Hui Quan and his mother. They then travelled to Venerable Seck Hong Choon’s hometown in Quanzhou for ancestral prayers. Subsequently, they embarked on restoration works for Cheng Tian Temple and Xiamen Hu Xi Temple.

On 30 October, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage flew from Xiamen to Beijing, accompanied by You Xiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Buddhist Association of China (BAC), who had come to meet them in Xiamen.

Upon their arrival in Beijing, they were warmly welcomed by Zhao Puchu (BAC Chairman) and his wife, Chen Bangzhi, Zhou Shaoliang (BAC Vice-Chairman), Venerable Shi Jing Hui, and Guo Yuanxing.

Zhao Puchu presented Venerable Seck Hong Choon with a newly carved stone scripture of the famous Fangshan Stone Sutra (房山石经) from BAC. Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage paid homage to the Stupa of the Tooth Relic of Buddha (Foya Sheli Ta), Lama Temple, the Great Wall of China, the Imperial Tombs of the Ming Dynasty, and the Forbidden City, among other famous attractions.

On 1 November, 9am, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage received a warm welcome from His Holiness, the Panchen Lama, Vice-Chairman of the National’s People Congress at the Great Hall of the People. The welcome event was attended by Zhao Puchu and wife, Chi Nai (Deputy Director of the National Religious Affairs Administration), and Zhou Shaoliang. At the event, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and Panchen Lama held friendly and cordial conversations with each other.

On 2 November, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage set off from Beijing to Guilin. They were accompanied by You Xiang and Zhao Guochen (BAC Deputy Director).

On the evening of 2 November, Lei Suping, Deputy-mayor of the Guilin Municipal city (Guangxi Province) personally received and visited Venerable Seck Hong Choon, and later hosted him to a vegetarian banquet. Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage later toured Li River (Li Jiang) and the Seven Star Crags (Qixing Yan).

On 4 November, Venerable Seck Hong Choon and his entourage flew from Guilin to Guangzhou. He visited Guangxiao Temple, and was warmly welcome by Venerables Yun Feng and Ben Huang.

On 5 November, 6pm, they were warmly welcomed and hosted to a banquet at a hotel by Zheng Qun, Vice-Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CCPPC) and Director of the United Front Work Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee. The banquet was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the CCPPC, and Zhao Puchu and his wife, who later visited Venerable Seck Hong Choon personally in his room and held cordial conversations with one another.

The visit was concluded on 6 November, and Venerable Seck Hong Choon returned to Singapore via Hong Kong. They were seen off at the airport by Venerable Shi Yun Feng, Chairman of the Guangdong Buddhist Association (GBA), Venerable Shi Ben Huan (GBA Vice-Chairman), Liu Zhuoshan (Vice-Chairman of the Religious Affairs Administration of Guangdong Province), You Xiang (BAC Deputy-Secretary General), and others.
