1923 年转道长老谈起泉州开元寺是唐代匡护祖师创建的法幢，年久失修、破旧不堪。他发愿以重兴该寺为已任。他为了取得圆瑛长老的支持，乃与其师弟转物法师朝礼普陀山后，再晤圆瑛长老于涌江接待寺商议修复古刹之事，转物法师亦允诺为臂助。三人同在佛前重立誓言，共成中兴古刹事业。
In 1923, Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao saw it as his duty and vowed to restore the derelict Kaiyuan Temple which was established during the Tang Dynasty by Venerable Shi Kuang Hu.
Along with his disciple, Venerable Sik Zhuan Wu, they gained the support of Venerable Shi Yuan Ying by making a pilgrimage to Putuo Mountain (one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism). Together, the three Venerables renewed their vows in front of the Buddha to restore Kaiyuan Temple to its former grandeur.
