在传统的华人佛教寺庙里，经常可以看到18尊罗汉的雕像或塑像，供信徒观赏、礼拜。“罗汉”也称“阿罗汉”或“尊者”，是对佛陀得道弟子的尊称。
这批陶瓷材质的罗汉雕像，最早供奉在光明山普觉禅寺的旧大雄宝殿内。原来共有18尊“十八罗汉”像，殿内左右侧各供奉9尊。现今供奉的有10尊。
从这些栩栩如生的塑像身影，仿佛何以让人看到寺里旧大雄宝殿内的庄严景象。
In traditional Chinese Buddhist temples or monasteries, it is common to see 18 Arhat statues displayed in prayer halls for devotees to admire and pay reverence to. Arhats refer to the Buddha’s disciples who have gained enlightenment.
These ceramic statues were originally placed in the monastery’s old Hall of Great Strength. The original 18 statues were symmetrically placed, with nine on each side of the veneration hall. Today, only 10 statues remain.
Through the silhouettes of the statues, one can sense the solemn and respectful atmosphere that surrounds the monastery’s old Hall of Great Strength.
